When Thornaby foodbank was cruelly broken into, locals where shocked and saddened that thieves could stoop so low. Faith in the community was restored when BBC Tees sought the assistance of local businesses to help out. At the Royal Oak, we set up a collection station, for residents of Great Ayton to come together and donate any spare food. Following appeals on the radio, we were soon inundated with donations. So much so that we have had to extend the donation period and increase collections, as we were soon running out of space!
